The Birmingham Zoo will present Dino Safari, a major exhibition featuring 23 life-size, animatronic dinosaurs, from March 4 through November 1. The exhibit, created by "Dino Don" Lessem's company—whose work includes advising on the Jurassic Park films—showcases what organizers describe as the largest and most lifelike dinosaurs ever displayed.
Visitors will encounter roaring, breathing giants including a 40-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex and the tallest dinosaur ever displayed at 35 feet high. The exhibit also features mother dinosaurs with their young, head-butting herbivores, and predatory raptors, offering an immersive journey through the ancient past.
Dino Safari will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the zoo closed Mondays and Tuesdays except on major holidays. Admission to the exhibit is included in the regular zoo entrance fee.
The zoo is offering an Adopt-A-Dinosaur program, allowing companies, organizations, or families to display their names on a dinosaur throughout the exhibit's run. Adopters will be recognized by hundreds of thousands of expected visitors. For more information, contact Kristin Martin at (205) 909-4560 or kmartin@birminghamzoo.com.
